Villagers, friends, champions of our cause, for the FOURTEENTH time in as many years, the coming of October means the Village of Round Lake is again under threat of annihilation by Zombies.
I repeat. Believe it or not, our idyllic little Village in The Grove will be overrun by a nightmare migration of the undead if we don’t defend ourselves. Gratefully, over the years we’ve managed to ascertain that this strain of Zombie somehow seems to be satisfied with non-perishable food items over eating our brains. Basic toiletries, batteries, nearly anything within reason for an emergency shelter donation seems to completely distract the otherwise ravenous horde from their terrible appetite.
4 PM TO 5 PM: FACE PAINTING AND FUN!
Everybody meets at THE ROUND LAKE AUDITORIUM grounds for delightfully simple carnival-style GAMES with FREE PRIZES AND REFRESHMENTS for everyone while all the Zombies get ZOMBIFIED by our fantastic VOLUNTEERS! If you’re interested in attending, PLENTY OF PARKING IS AVAILABLE AT THE ZIM SMITH BIKE PATH PARKING LOT IN ROUND LAKE! It’s only a ONE-MINUTE STROLL to the ROUND LAKE AUDITORIUM, but as this event is mainly OUTDOORS, PLEASE CONSIDER WEARING WEATHER-APPROPRIATE CLOTHING!

5-6 PM: THE WALK!
The ZOMBIES wander The Village on the lookout for DONATIONS left by TERRIFIED VILLAGE RESIDENTS!
6 PM-6:30 PM: RETURN!
Everyone reconvenes at THE ROUND LAKE AUDITORIUM for some more REFRESHMENTS and FUN while we await THE GRAND FINALE!
6:30PM-7:30 THE GRAND FINALE featuring The enchanting Zorbas Trio!!
Outside of the occasional random raffle, incredible pop-up fire-spinning performance, Spooky film presentation, or an impromptu Scaryoke jam session, we tend to just stand around eating snacks, happy about another wonderful evening before returning safely home.
Saving the residents of Round Lake from certain doom each year has consistently provided much-needed relief to shelters and food banks region-wide for over a decade. It’s through the continued incredible support of each of our friends and volunteers that we are able to produce this treasured event.

Participating ROUND LAKE VILLAGE RESIDENTS are encouraged to leave any donations in a well-lit, easily accessible area to be picked up by passing Zombies BETWEEN 5- 6 PM ON OCTOBER 14th, 2026!
TO EVERYONE ELSE INTERESTED, DONATION DROP-OFF POINTS ARE LOCATED AT BOTH THE VILLAGE OF ROUND LAKE CLARK HOUSE LIBRARY AND THE ROUTE 9 MALTA BRANCH LIBRARY THROUGH OCTOBER 14TH.
